Experience:
Danielle Thacker is a Learning Technologies Specialist with Virginia Tech's Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS). She has been with the university since 2005 and became part of TLOS in 2008. In her role as the service owner for Canvas, Virginia Tech’s Learning Management System (LMS), Danielle supports, trains, and consults with faculty to enhance digital teaching and learning.
Beyond faculty development, she is instrumental in testing and integrating tools within Canvas, as well as evaluating and implementing new features. Danielle works closely with university stakeholders to assess the impact of these functionalities and determine the best approach for their deployment. Additionally, she creates documentation and resources to help faculty make the most of these digital tools.

Personal Interests:
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and immersing herself in music. She’s also a passionate animal lover, with a particular fondness for cats and the backyard wildlife around her home. When she’s not supporting faculty at Virginia Tech, you might find her battling demons in Diablo—a nod to her love of gaming and epic adventures in the digital realm.
