Accessible Technologies Training & Consulting
Accessible Technologies Training & Consulting
The Accessible Technologies team offers support to faculty and staff seeking to use assistive technologies in classroom instruction or research for Section 508 or W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance. Consulting services are also available to any university entity wanting to provide a disability accommodation, to support assistive technologies for any academic or administrative purpose, or to develop a better understanding about assistive technologies options. Contact the Accessible Technologies team by emailing assist@vt.edu.
Professional Development
Through Professional Development Network (PDN), we also offer free professional development for faculty, staff and graduate students related to classroom accessibility. Participants gain knowledge of tools and techniques for creating accessible instructional materials/activities, as well as the practical experience necessary to design and create accessible and inclusive learning environments. For details about specific times for upcoming professional development opportunities, view our workshop schedule.
