TLOS offers a series of events designed to foster digital fluency and support the design and development of successful digital learning experiences and technology-enhanced environments for flexible and online learning.
Instructional Design with UDL: Addressing Learner Variability in College Course - September 23, 2024
This one-day professional learning event will share updated digital accessibility policies and inclusive design practices intended to help instructors reduce educational barriers and foster student success during the course design process.
TLOS Showcase - October 11, 2024
This full-day event will feature cutting-edge projects and opportunities to learn about current and emerging technologies for teaching and learning. The sessions will feature TLOS grant and award recipients and other faculty partners engaged in technology-enhanced teaching and learning projects. Topics will include artificial intelligence in the classroom, the new Canvas features, the Hypothesis social annotation tool, and more. Registration will open in mid-September. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.
TLOS PDN Computer Showcase - December 12, 2024
This one-day is open to faculty, staff, and graduate students. FY25 Faculty Computer Refresh cohort members are encouraged to attend. Registration will open in November.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Day 2025
This in-person professional learning event will focus on integrating inclusive design, pedagogy, and technology to support diverse learning needs across multiple disciplines at Virginia Tech. Participants will learn strategies and best practices that they can leverage to reduce educational barriers and foster student engagement and success. TLOS Accessible Technologies is planning this event for the spring semester 2025.
