Experience:

My experience spans college teaching, graduate education, student affairs, higher education administration, instructional and curricular development, academic integrity, writing support, and faculty development. At Virginia Tech, I have taught courses in first-year writing, technical writing, and writing and social justice, with a focus on student-centered teaching and course design. I have also supported graduate instructor development through workshops, mentorship programming, communities of practice, and other teaching initiatives. As Director of the Academy for Outstanding Graduate Pedagogy, I help lead programming and recognition efforts related to graduate teaching. As Chair of the Graduate Honor System, I work in academic integrity education, policy, training, case management, and graduate governance. Prior to my doctoral work, I worked in Virginia Tech’s Division of Student Affairs, supporting university administration, student-facing initiatives, institutional projects, and cross-campus work. My broader experience includes faculty development, writing support, technical editing, and university administration.

My professional interests include teaching and learning in higher education, graduate student and faculty development, higher education leadership and administration, composition pedagogy, writing program administration, instructional and curricular design, mentorship, queer rhetorics and pedagogies, and the intersections of rhetoric, writing, and institutional life.
