Overview
Panopto Webcasting allows instructors to broadcast live video sessions to audiences while simultaneously recording the event for later viewing. Webcasts can be used for live lectures, guest speakers, department events, or hybrid teaching scenarios.
After the live session ends, the recording is automatically saved in Panopto and can be edited or shared.
Stream live video from Panopto Recorder.
Broadcast lectures or events to viewers.
Automatically archive recordings.
Control viewer permissions.
View basic analytics.
Join live streams using a shared link or through Canvas.
Watch recorded sessions afterward.
Use captions if enabled.
Highly interactive meetings.

Extensive audience participation tools are required.
Stream guest lectures.
Broadcast large lectures.

Enable captions where possible.

Provide recordings for later access.
Students do not have access to Panopto Webcasting.

Instructor: Log into Canvas, navigate to a site, and select Panopto Video. If Panopto Video is not enabled in your menu, see How do I manage Course Navigation links?
