Peer Mentoring Model
The Universal Design for Learning Peer Mentoring Program
The peer mentoring program aims to foster a greater depth of engagement and interaction among faculty through collaborative learning opportunities in an enhanced professional learning community. This opportunity aims to create a supportive environment for continuous professional development and peer learning.
The UDL peer mentoring program with structured support for educators emphasizes the importance of peer support and feedback loops in the teaching process. As part of the program, our 10 UDL Faculty Fellows will engage in peer review practices, partnering with teaching faculty who attend the Instructional Design with Universal Design for Learning: Addressing Learner Variability in College Courses Event. Progress check-in meetings will be held throughout the fall 2024 semester to provide ongoing support and guidance to participants. Mentors and mentees will have opportunities to receive funding for attending and presenting at conferences with accepted proposals on this collaborative approach. For details of the UDL peer mentoring program arrangement, see Table 1.
