Partner With TLOS
We offer partnerships in our sandbox learning technology process and also in various grant programs that we have available. Learn more about our partnership opportunities below.
Sandbox Technologies Partnership
TLOS does research and development for emerging teaching and learning technologies at Virginia Tech. We are always looking for partners with new and innovative ideas to collaborate with us.
Our Innovation Pipeline
We approach research into innovation primarily in three ways:
Time-limited explorations into new technologies to better understand how they can help increase learning outcomes.
We collaborate with university partners to pre-pilot technology to measure specific performance indicators.
Commited partnerships with departments across the university to test viability and support processes related to new technologies.
Our Innovation Pipeline
Do you have an interesting idea for using technology in a new way that could increase the value of research, learning, and instruction at Virginia Tech? Please feel free to contact us to start a discussion about how we can help you get your initiatives off the ground.
TLOS is excited to debut a new suite of institutional grants to the Virginia Tech community! Ranging from seed grants to grow leading edge innovation to large-scale curricular redesign and competitive research grants.
4-VA Grant Initiatives
The Request for Proposal process is open for Competitive Research and Collaborative Endeavors Grants. 4-VA is a Collaborative of Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, George Mason University, James Madison University, and Old Dominion University working together to realize Virginia’s goals for higher education. 4-VA grants at Virginia Tech support collaborative endeavors, course redesign, and innovative research in support of the Collaborative’s goals.
Design and Develop Awards
Design and Develop Awards support development of courses. Proposals are eligible for funding in two categories; individual course development and full graduate degree or certificate programs.
Innovation in Learning Grants
Innovation in Learning (IL) Grants support the implementation and evaluation of new approaches to teaching and learning using technology. They advance the integration of new technologies in teaching and learning without limiting or prescribing the exploration of either the technologies or the curricular and pedagogical approaches.
Looking for other ways to partner?
We are always looking for ways that we can help improve teaching and learning outcomes through technology. If you have a new idea, or would like some assistance in implementing technology in your classroom, please feel free to contact us.
