1EdTech Consortium (formerly IMS Global) affiliate membership benefits include access to a community for developers and end-users to collaborate on tools, techniques, and trials of distributed learning products and delivery systems.


EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association and the foremost community of IT leaders and professionals committed to advancing higher education. This service provides access to collaborative and informative services for faculty and staff in the form of curated content, publications, IT benchmarking data and research, list servers, blogs, wikis, and events.

Instructure Community

Search Canvas support documentation, access free training, join interest groups, and ask questions. Get help from over 1.5 million community members around the world.

International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Membership

IAAP membership benefits include free access to live and archived webinars, discounts for industry-produced webinars, a subscription to the digital Accessibility Matters newsletter, and access to subject matter expert communities. Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and graduate students can request free access to the Virginia Tech IAAP institutional membership.

Online Learning Consortium (OLC)

Membership benefits include webinars, peer networking, early access to research, access to OLC consulting, member pricing on professional development and OLC conferences and events, and more. 

Quality Matters

Quality Matters (QM) enables users to improve the quality of their online courses. Members have access to QM tools and resources including access to rubrics and standards, training, and reports as well as receiving discounts on conferences. LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning offers more than 17,000 on-demand courses and learning paths designed to help users gain new skills and knowledge. Access is free for current Virginia Tech students and employees when they log in at using their VT username and passphrase.

Virginia Tech Libraries Images & Streaming Media

Virginia Tech Libraries offers access to a collection of classroom-legal historical images and streaming media options.
