Grant Programs

TLOS manages a suite of institutional grants to the Virginia Tech community including seed grants to grow leading-edge innovation, funding to develop or redesign courses for flexible and online learning experiences, and awards to support large-scale curricular redesign and competitive research grants.

Open Requests for Proposals

The Provost’s Office invites proposals for funded research activity through a 4-VA Collaborative Research Grant. Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2024.

Please submit questions, concerns, or requests for more information about grant opportunities to the Senior Director of Grants and Awards and 4-VA Campus Coordinator, Lujean Baab, at lbaab@vt.edu.

Other Grant Programs

4-VA Grant Initiatives

4-VA is a collaborative of Virginia Tech, College of William and Mary, George Mason University, James Madison University, Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Virginia Military Institute working together to realize Virginia's goals for higher education. Grants are intended to promote collaborations that leverage the strengths of each university. 4-VA grants at Virginia Tech support innovative approaches to collaborative endeavors, collaborative research, and course redesign.

Accessibility Professional Certification Grant Program

Accessible Technologies awards grants to selected candidates throughout the university to become International Association for Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) certified accessibility professionals.

DRIVE Grants

Develop, Redesign, Innovate, Vitalize, and Enhance (DRIVE) grants fund the development or redesign of flexible and online learning experiences for Virginia Tech students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Innovation in Learning Grants

Innovation in Learning (IL) Grants support the implementation and evaluation of new approaches to teaching and learning using technology. They advance the integration of new technologies in teaching and learning without limiting or prescribing the exploration of either the technologies or the curricular and pedagogical approaches.
